Position/Job Description
Title:
Family Services representative
Position Summary:
Performs all duties and responsibilities that relate to Family Services/burial arrangements
Assist families with burial arrangements, inscriptions, new sales of monuments, vases, flowers, etc.
Handle legal title and affidavit paperwork with families
Receive funeral orders from funeral directors and distribute to Superintendents
Work with Superintendents to determine if burial location can be “re-used”
Communicate with Funeral Directors on size of casket, dates, etc.
Create and mail out contracts for inscriptions and various cemetery services
Maintain all cemetery records and update Database
Prepare weekly work detailed reports and make weekly deposits
Ensure cemetery ownership records are kept up to date
General clerical duties
Assist with requested family research
To periodically attend scheduled cemetery events
To attend burial services in the cemeteries
To perform any other duties assigned to this position.
Work conditions:
Mostly indoors; some occasional field work to attend burials.
Must provide own transportation if attending events or burials.
Candidate Specification Requirements:
Must possess good communication and written organization skills.
Maintain a professional and positive attitude with managers, co-workers, clients, callers and visitors to the cemeteries
Self-motivated and able to work unassisted
Must possess compassion for other’s grief
Must have the following computer skills: Nexus, Word, Excel and Outlook
Good common sense and basic knowledge of heirship laws
Good speech communication is necessary
Good hearing and vision is necessary
Position will be in St. Patrick Cemetery or St. Louis Cemetery office; position is full-time with benefits
